The story so far...

I really have nothing to say, and that's the story so far. Wait, not true, I do have something to say (surprise). I'll admit that travel plans have been non-existent so far this year. The past few posts have not even been related to food nor travel, and other than a few gastronomic delights in Toronto (which does not count on this blog), the future of a hungry man travels is very much up in the air. I was supposed to go to Montreal this past week , staying at the beautiful le Germaine Hotel. Culinary plans included a trek to au pied de cochon and garde manger (yes he is slightly annoying on TV, but I admire Chuck Hughes). I was so freaking excited to eat at those two places, but had to cancel due to illness - dammit!!! I was planning on going to Brazil and Argentina as a graduation gift to myself in April/May, but if I end up getting a job those plans may be out the window.

I sincerely hoped that I wouldn't have to take another hiatus from the blog, but that just may end up being the case. Even the idea of shutting the blog down has entered my mind more than once this year. If I do decide to shut it down, no doubt I'll return to blogging in some form or another. It has been a lot of fun having the blog, and I loved writing it. It's always been a good/comforting place for me, particularly on those crap days when you're wondering "what the hell have I done with my life?" It's when you encounter those feelings, you can go online, open the blog, and scan the pages of the past, remembering/reminiscing, talking a great deal to yourself as you say: "oh hey Steve, you went on a great, big world trip of a lifetime, and this is what you have to show for it - nicely done!"

Ah well, we'll see what happens. I think I'll have a better idea on what to do with the blog as it gets closer to graduation.
